it's not that we would stop being friends because of him. If he says no then it becomes awkward, or at least i think it becomes awkward. and everything is different to me, not that i stop liking him but knowing that he knows i like him.. Knowing that he doesn't fell the same way would, i don't know, make things different, but i know that if i never ask i never will know. that's what everyone says. just for an example, lets say you're John Doe, how would you answer if i asked?

if you don’t think that he likes you, then you don’t have to ask him!

If he is giving you clues that say “I like you brah” then do it.
but if you’re not sure, and don’t want to know the truth, don’t.
who knows, maybe he’ll ask you to be your valentine.
just play it by ear an hope for the best, just don’t let your fears get in the way of what you really want :)
